How to Wash Your Printed Clothing?
- Turn Inside Out: This simple yet essential step helps protect the printed area from scratches and friction.
- Cold Water Wash: Choose temperatures at or below 30°C (86°F) to prevent fading or shrinkage of the print.
- Delicate Cycle: Set your washing machine to a gentle cycle, ideally at 600 rpm, to reduce friction.
- Mild Detergent: Use a gentle detergent, as harsh formulas can cause the ink to fade or discolor.
- Avoid Fabric Softener & Dry Cleaning: These can be too harsh on the ink, potentially degrading the print quality.
- No Bleach: Avoid using bleach, though non-chlorine bleach is safe if absolutely necessary.
How to Dry Your Printed Clothing?
- Keep Inside Out: Continue to protect the print by keeping the clothing inside out.
- Hang Dry: The best method is air drying, but if you need to use a dryer, use a low heat setting.
- Tumble Dry with Care: If using a tumble dryer, set it to low heat to prevent cracking of the ink over time.
Scent and Discoloration
- Ink Scent: A faint, vinegar-like smell may be present due to the ink application process, but it will disappear after the first wash.
- Discoloration or Residue: Water-soluble inks can sometimes leave a slight off-white residue or discoloration, which will wash out easily.
Additional Precautions
- Avoid Direct Sunlight Before Washing: The pre-treatment used in printing can cause sun staining, which is difficult to remove.
- Iron Carefully: Always iron the garment inside out and avoid direct heat on the printed areas.
- Separate Laundry: To prevent color bleeding, wash light and dark garments separately.
